HOW SCIENCE CONTROLS YOUR BELIEFS

Here are just two extremely profound ways:

1.  Darwin's 'theory' of evolution was just a theory, as the phrase states, but repeated enough times, it has become an absolute to almost every human on earth.  Even those who say they do not believe in evolution still function from the premise of the survival of the fittest.  Humans compete with each other over everything, often killing those who are a threat to their survival. Our whole belief system is built on this foundation of scarcity.  We no longer share and care for each other, but compete and fight for our own survival.  Even Darwin did not believe so greatly in this theory, but considered many others. Furthermore, intelligent design has been suppressed by the scientific world.

2.  The science that says that genes control life (genetic control) is called the central dogma.  It has never been proven.  Yet, almost every human has based their belief system on this idea that they cannot control their genes, thus their diseases, and other things that they are thought to have inherited.  This takes away all our power to heal and keeps us living as victims of our genes.  Epigentics shows that this is not at all how it works, and that our beliefs control our genes.

Both of these beliefs, based upon science, have kept us trapped as victims, when we should be masters of our lives.

THE ILLUSION OF WINNING

Winning is what we seek to do when we play a game; whether it is a sports game or a board game. It is attributed to a contest taking place. Thus all contestants must be willing and able to participate. It is something that we have been socially conditioned to believe is of absolute necessity, for if we do not win, we are a failure. It is due to this attitude that sports, which was previously played for the fun of it, has become something that must be won. You need only watch parents of little children who are playing rugby, to see how sports has turned into a kill zone, with parents anxiously screaming to their children to take some or other violent or aggressive action towards their opponents. Sometimes the parents even scream obscenities and threats to each other.

So it is that war has become like a game to be won. In reality, nobody really wins a war. Too many lives are lost, property damaged, animals and ecosystems destroyed, and it costs the countries involved far too much money, or debt. War is a matter of invasion, in almost all cases, and thus it is that only one participant is willing, and often able to participate. For the country which is being invaded, it is merely a means of being bullied.

As it is with everything, this attitude of winning at all costs, without any consideration for the consequences thereof, can be perceived on a global level and on a individual level.

On an individual level, people seek to win in their relationships with others, their spouses, children, friends, enemies, employers or employees. Relationships are treated like a game which needs to be won. In this way both parties must be willing and able to participate. Yet, there is most often a party who does not seek to play. Of course, this automatically means that they have lost the game, whether they took part or not.

However, in order to have good relationships with others, it is necessary for a win-win situation. Relationships are not a game to be played, but mutual cooperation and consideration. Refrain from seeing other people as competition, and instead seek the place within yourself where that 'I'm not good enough' voice has been drowned out, and replaced by the 'I love and accept myself just as I am right now' voice. ~<3~

THE EFFECTS OF TELEVISION ON YOUR BELIEF SYSTEM

The most obvious effect is the aggression and violence we see, which desensitises us.  We become  so used to seeing violence and aggression that we begin to see it as a normal part of life.  In a desensitised state, people no longer care to help other people who are caught up in violence.  People feel nothing to hurt or kill another person.   Empathy becomes apathy.  We begin to believe that taking another life or hurting someone is alright.  It is done in the movies, afterall.

A much less obvious effect is how these movies mould our minds to see certain people in a certain light.  By making the ‘bad guys’ a specific race or religion, we begin to see that whole race or religion as evil.   Movies have always been used to demonise a specific group of people (dependent on the time and the particular agenda) the establishment want us to hate.

Another less obvious effect is how relationships in movies affect our handling of relationships, and what we deem as normal and right.  We learn to do as the actors and actresses do.  If they don’t show signs of commitment, we eventually learn that it is alright not to be committed within a relationship, for example.  Viewing these dramas and movies often create an entirely new value/belief system, not necessarily a moral one.

Movies and dramas also make us think that we must be rich, slim and beautiful to mean anything in this world, because the heroes are always rich, slim and attractive.  This sends us the message that if we do not fit this criteria, we are worthless, as well as those around us who do not fit it.

They also serve as a form of escape from the pressures of life.    Time that could have been better spent doing something creative, learning a new skill, or learning something that could make us more self-responsible.    Instead, the stress is not managed or released, but compounded, until  a health issue, relationship issue, etc, demands our attention.  In which case, it is often too late.

What did people do before the televisions were introduced into our society?  They talked, played games, or read.  They enjoyed each other’s company.  Television and movies have created a belief that we, as a society, need to be entertained.  That we are unable to entertain ourselves.  We have become addicted to sensationalism.  Everything else is boring.

Movies are so full of sexual content, that we are led to believe that sex is a public thing, instead of a private, sacred act between two people who share an emotional, spiritual and physical connection.  We have been robbed of our natural sexuality.   Many movies promote sex with children, or the raping of women, or men, by making us think such acts are normal.  As these acts are accepted, more perverted acts are slowly introduced, in this normalising effect.

Movies and television rob us of our time to think, self-reflect and work on challenges which we face, in a constructive manner , which promote emotional growth.   Self-reflection helps us to transcend fear-based beliefs about ourselves, and work towards healthier self-love.

We are led to believe that life is hard, people are mean and dishonest, and this is all normal.  That we must fit in, or be condemned by society.   If one thinks that everyone is dishonest, then one would tend to accept dishonesty, rather than seeking people who exhibit characteristics such as honesty.

Due to the fact that we see these actors or actresses as heroes or heroine, they become our role models.  They signify everything that is ‘cool’, and we strive to be as they are.  How they dress, eat or drink becomes an example to us.  Just as a parent influences his or her child by means of his or her example.

Whether we consciously know it or not, we are bombarded with ideas, which are in actual fact what become beliefs, and because we are put into an alpha (hypnotic) state, we blindly accept what is downloaded into our minds, whether these ideas are moral or not.   The only way to view television or movies without our belief system being influenced, is to know how our beliefs are influenced, and to watch critically, and pick up on these things.

Once you have stopped watching television and movies for a few years, and you watch again, you notice the effect it has on your mind.  Anxiety, stress and depression, which was not noticed before, after viewing something, can clearly be seen.  Studies have shown that people who watch tv regularly, suffer from mild to severe depression.

Take back your mind, work at reaching your full potential, growing emotionally, creatively and intellectually, and find fulfillment where emptiness once existed.   Stop watching the box and the big screen.

FREEDOM FROM THE ILLUSIONS OF FEAR

Many people have this idea that if something causes us to feel sad, angry or upset, that we must ignore it, hide it away, or avoid it, at all costs. This is a New Age religion concept, to catch those who start waking up, before they awaken completely. It is this idea which gives birth to one of the world's greatest crimes - apathy. It is this idea which keeps people trapped in a velvet-lined comfort zone, where they cannot grow, reach their full potential, improve their relationships with themselves and others, stop the destruction they are responsible for, or change the world for the better. It is also this idea which keeps people addicted to pharmaceutical and illegal drugs, alcohol, retail therapy, and the approval of society.

Negative emotions have a purpose... they arise from within us to tell us that there is something which is not right within us - which upon deep investigation, can always be traced back to a fear-based belief. It is by facing these fears, that we are able to transcend them, and eliminate the fear-based beliefs which are holding us hostage, and causing the suffering and pain. Ignoring them, or trying to cover them up with some addiction, is like taking a headache pill for a headache which is being caused by high blood pressure or a tumour. Inevitably, it will return, and the high blood pressure or tumour will not heal, but become worse.

One of the greatest fear that people have, is the fear of facing themselves. Of letting go of the false illusions of security they have built around themselves. Ironically, it is these fears which cause the suffering and pain we seek to escape. It is by facing these fears, that we are able to tap into our hidden resources, strength and potential, and become more positive and happy.

Strip yourself bare of all the illusions and find a beauty beyond what you could ever have imagined... strength and courage you never imagined you had... ~♥~

ARE YOU A VICTIM OR A VICTOR?

Many people live with a victim mentality, which causes them to do things that don't make sense. It is easier for us to understand them if we understand why they do the things they do.

Victims find it very difficult to say 'thank you'. Although they may sometimes appreciate something, depending on their level of victimhood, they often feel that by saying 'thank you' they will be making themselves inferior to the person they are thanking. In many cases, the victim has such a high degree of this victim mentality that they do not appreciate anything done for them because they feel that the world owes them.

Victims often treat others badly, and when they are confronted, turn everything around so that they seem like the victims, totally avoiding what they have done. They lack self-responsibility. It is too difficult for them to get past looking at themselves as victims (the fear) to see the harm they do to others. They cannot be objective.

It is for this reason that victims lack empathy. They cannot see another's pain or suffering because they are drowning in their own pain and suffering.

This causes the victim to lash out at others through emotional abuse, physical abuse, etc. They lack the ability to see cause and effect, and thus see the world as causing their pain and suffering, rather than the pain and suffering they experience, being the consequence of their own beliefs about themselves.

Victims often resort to addictive behaviour such as the addiction to approval, retail therapy (consumerism and materialism), drugs, alcohol, etc. They do this to hide the fear they feel inside. These fears come in various forms, such as anger, guilt, superiority/inferiority, depression, and all the other negative emotions.

Victims cannot give other people compliments or praise, as they feel it will be giving away their own power... making them less. However, they are very quick to point out the negative aspects of someone or something. They do not understand that giving means receiving.

Victims see mistakes as failure, and fill themselves with guilt, instead of looking for the lesson which they need to learn. They thus make the same mistakes over and over again, and become more and more bitter. Heightening their victim status.

Victims fail to see solutions to their problems because their perspective of themselves, and the depth to which they can see things, is clouded by their own beliefs of inferiority (fear).

The victim status is a result of fear-based beliefs which keeps people in a state of lack.... of scarcity regarding their own power. These fears do not allow them to tap into their inherent source of power. Thus the solution is to identify the fears, which show up in our emotional state. All negative emotions result from a fear-based belief about ourselves. Being offended is the first sign, which is followed by anger, depression, and other negative emotions. If one can work up enough courage to face the fear and look into it to find the source, one can transcend the fear. The more this is done, the easier it becomes, and the more in tune one becomes with our inherent power source of awareness, intuition, courage, strength, ability to solve problems, etc.

Almost everyone feels like a victim in one or more areas of their lives. We need to understand that it is the conditioning that we have received that has created this victim status, and that we can discard it at any time. Nobody is a victim, unless they choose to be a victim...

Make a decision today: Are you a victim or a victor....

IS YOUR CONSCIOUSNESS A CREATIVE, OR DESTRUCTIVE FORCE?

What is blame? Blame is merely the physical manifestation of your inner fears which create our outer perceived reality. This occurs on a personal level and on a collective level. What is outside is merely a reflection of what is inside. If a certain percentage of humans are in a particular state of fear, they manifest this fear as our perceived reality. These manifestations are therefore of vital importance because they tell us that there is something wrong. We therefore must not ignore them, but become aware of them. Self-responsibility requires looking at the problem, on the outside, becoming aware of it's root fear, which cause the symptoms, and fixing it on the inside.

The symptoms are the things you see.... much like a headache is what you feel. How you see things is dependent on the fear-based belief system you have been conditioned with... much like the strength or weakness of the immune system you have built up through your consuming of healthy food or toxins. Humans are taught to take notice of the symptoms, and react on them, rather than to use the symptoms as a guide to the root cause, which is where problems/challenges are fixed, and disease is healed. The symptoms are only useful to us as guides to the root cause. As the headache is a warning of high blood pressure, etc. It does not help to keep taking painkillers for the headache, as the root cause will still persist, and the problem will become worse. It therefore makes sense not to try to hide the root cause by taking pills and not investigating further. Just as it is useless to fight the symptoms of politics, etc, without looking for the root cause of the problems/challenges.

Therefore, use the symptoms to guide you to the root cause, and transcend the fear which is causing it. The fear can be your very own fear, which is manifested in your personal life, or it can be a collective fear, which is manifested universally. If it manifests universally then it is because the majority of humans have the same fear, which is the result of cultural conditioning, brainwashing from television, etc. Therefore, if you have the same beliefs as the majority, you know that you are a contributor to this collective perceived reality.

As you transcend these fears, you will become more and more aware, and thus more courageous and able, to transcend more of these fears, making you a stronger person and a contributor of love, peace and harmony to the collective perceived reality. It doesn't matter how small, big, tough or weak you think you are: YOU CAN CHANGE THE WORLD FOR THE BETTER!!

PROBLEM-SOLVING

A problem is only a problem until we turn it into a challenge.  How do we turn it into a challenge?  By taking a negative attitude towards something and changing it into curiosity.  We do this by asking questions... by taking the problem apart and finding the root cause of the problem.  This problem has then become a challenge.

Within every problem, lies the solution.  If you have lost your keys inside your house, do you go and look outside your house, or in another's house?  However, if we look at the problem from the same negative consciousness that created the problem, we will not find the solution.  Instead we react on the problem, often causing more problems or compounding the problem.

Have you ever wondered why people study for an exam, only to start the exam and not remember anything which was studied?  It is because when we are caught up in a negative mindset, such as stress, we are not able to access information from certain parts of the brain, where the information has been stored.

To be successful, we must change our consciousness to one of curiosity and positivity.  We must create an attitude of believing that the problem is able to be solved, and that we possess the capability to solve it.

Curiosity means to ask many questions... Why? What? How? When?  Who? By adapting a positive attitude, we are able to see the solutions.  However, a person consumed with negativity and reaction, is blinded, and therefore not able to find the answers before them.

Once you arrive at this place, the universe begins to work with you through something we call sychronicity.  Thus, as we seek the answers, they miraculously appear to us.  This can be through a book that we suddenly come across, or the post of friend on Facebook, or meeting someone that says something regarding the challenge in question.

This no longer requires the kind of boring, monotonous research that University students have to go through, and becomes very easy and satisfying.  It instills the will to want to know more, and makes problems easy to deal with effectively, to the advantage of all, and the detriment of none.

Never run away from or ignore a problem!!! By running away or ignoring the problem, you are also running away from or ignoring the solution.  Ignoring something doesn't make it go away, it means you are merely delaying the inevitable. Sooner or later you will have to face it, and then you will not be prepared.  Guess what... Your power has been taken away from you, by you.  Is that what you really want?  Do you want to stagnate, and have life drive you where it wants?  Or do you want to grow and evolve... be in control of your own life?

Everything we see as a problem, is really a challenge to help us to learn something important that will propel us to a higher level of evolution, a higher level of consciousness.  It provides us with the tools which we will later need to face a new challenge.  Much like climbing a ladder, one rung at a time.

Life is beautiful, even with all the horrors, because we have the ability to change them at any time.

Many blessings of love and peace ♥

HATRED

Hatred, discrimination, revenge, etc

How do you feel when you are revengeful? Bitter, hateful, resentful, unforgiving, angry, victimised, etc. All negative feelings. These very same emotions are the ones that cause our blood pressure to rise... our heart to overwork, and put enormous amounts of stress on our organs.

We also attract to us more circumstances which provide the same emotions. This makes for a terrible cycle of suffering and pain.

All the great teachers have taught us to be peaceful, no matter what others do. Jesus said that we must turn the other cheek. Martin Luther King Jr taught his followers not to resort to violence, because 'the enemy' was suffering from a mental illness... and he was right. The illness of the ego - hatred. He taught his followers that love was the only way. Ghandi helped his people overcome domination by peaceful means.

Understand that people only act out of hatred when they have hatred within them. They only discriminate against others when they judge themselves.  When they feel inferior, and in so doing, attempt to gain superiority.  We do things according to our beliefs about ourselves and the world. Self-preservation and self-defense are the result of fear. Be compassionate and understanding of others and their issues. It really has nothing to do with you.. It is not because of you that they act or react the way they do.

People have a way of living up to what we expect of them... Expect and assume that all humans have something beautiful and good inside them, and they will soon show it to you.

When we feel negative emotions like revenge, discrimination or hatred, we are not being true to our inner being, which is love. We are being dominated and controlled by the ego. We have disconnected from God... from guidance and inspiration. We are not controlled by ourselves, but by others. If someone else can evoke an emotion or reaction from you, they are in control of you. You have given them free reign of your inner world.

On a collective level, we contribute to the illusion of war, destruction and aggression on our planet, when we exude these negative characteristics.  The collective only needs a certain percentage of this fear consciousness to manifest itself as the collective illusion. When people change themselves, and overcome hatred, discrimination and all the other negative characteristics, they let go of fear, and in so doing, allow for love, compassion and peace to come in... In a society dominant in love consciousness, the vibration is set for a collective reality of peace, love and harmony.

Let us stop the war and hatred in our beautiful world, by starting with ourselves. Let us be like the great masters, Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, etc. Let us be love and peace. Let us heal ourselves, and in doing so, heal our planet. It all starts with you... Yes, YOU!

FREEDOM

What is freedom?
Some say to be free means to do anything you like... Is that freedom?  What if what you like to do feels like freedom to you at that moment, but has consequences which you don't like?  Is it still freedom?

What then, is freedom really...
There are those who have been imprisoned behind bars, tortured to the extent that their bodies cried out for mercy, yet they have felt freedom.

In a world where we are influenced by so many things which shape our ideas, our beliefs, our state of mind, and lead to attachments to these ideas and beliefs, we cannot be free, as long as we comply to these norms and social conditionings.

It is attachment which robs us of our freedom.  The attachment to the idea of who we are.  The attachment to beliefs which limit us, and thus cut our wings.

Mostly, it is the attachment to a false image of ourselves that others have helped us to create.  The pressure of living up to this false image, when all the while, our inner being is crying out to be recognised.  The need for approval from others... the need to belong, and to fit in, is an invisible cage.  It is an addiction, and possibly the worst and most debilitating addiction we could ever be possessed with.  Herein lies our attachment to what others' think of us.

It is this addiction which shapes our reality, which limits us from reaching for our dreams.  It is this addiction which stops us from being who we truly are at the centre of our being.  It is the most difficult addiction to free ourselves of... Yet, when we do, we reach a far greater feeling of freedom, happiness and respect than we ever had before.

As we grow in self-love and self-acceptance, we no longer seek the approval of others.  We no longer seek happiness in retail therapy.  We no longer need someone to love us so that we feel worthy of love.  We free ourselves of all the 'shoulds' that others impose on us.  We free ourselves of duty.  We free ourselves of all these restraints. We realise that the source of all security, all happiness, all abundance, all freedom, lies within us.

What then of consequences?
When we do things because we 'should' or because we have an image or reputation to maintain, we do it, not from the heart, but with a sense of resentment.  We act from a negative field of emotion, and it builds up to a crescendo, until we finally burst.  We seek gratitude, which often doesn't materialise.  We seek compensation, often subconsciously, or at a later stage.  We feel bitterness when these needs are not met.

Yet, when we are in a position to do things purely from the heart, with no need for compensation or gratitude... unconditionally, we see these tasks or duties, as privileges.  As a means of satisfying something deep within our inner being, with no attachment to a result or outcome.  We are no longer dependent on another.  The invisible cage no longer holds us from our freedom...

Many blessings of love and peace ♥

ACCEPTANCE

"Acceptance of one's life has nothing to do with resignation;  it does not mean running away from the struggle.  On the contrary it means accepting it as it comes... To accept is to say yes to life in it's entirety."
~ Paul Tournier

"Today I know that I cannot control the ocean tides.  I can only go with the flow... When I struggle and try to organise the Atlantic to my specifications, I sink.  If I flail and thrash and growl and grumble, I go under.  If I let go and float, I am borne aloft."
~ Marie Stilkind

Life is very much like a river... When we go along with the current, and take things as they come, we are able to give our full attention to everything around us.  We can perceive one thing at a time, and take what we need from the river.  We are calm and peaceful enough to see the beauty on the shore.. We appreciate it... We love it.... We are grateful for our life.  We can steer ourselves in the direction that we desire to be.  We have control over our lives.  We accept every circumstance and event as a circumstance leading to something else.  We can seek and find the best in everything and everyone.

Yet, when we decide to go against the current, we struggle... We swim and swim, and often stay in the same place.  We begin to panic and thrash around.  To lash out at life for giving us such hardship and struggle.  We curse life, and fight against the river.  A fight that can never be won.  We don't have any control of the direction our lives are taking us.  This fight is really with ourselves.  We have chosen it.  We think we are only worthy of hardship and struggle.  We don't see the beauty of life passing us by on the shore... we are too absorbed in our struggle to survive.

Yes, we may hit a rock, or a tree stump in our journey down the river, but we take it for what it is.... a rock, or a tree stump.  We know that it is there for a reason... Maybe to steer us in another direction... or maybe to stop us for a while to see something that we may have missed.  There are no accidents or coincidences.  Everything happens for a reason.  A divine lesson that we must learn in order to grow and transcend to something bigger.  A step closer to our true potential.

If we don't accept the lesson that the rock or tree stump provides, we become bitter, and fight against it.. or we give up.  We complain and try to find a way to escape the lesson.  We begin to swim upstream.  We decide that we don't like downstream.. that we are not prepared to go there.  We choose the path of suffering and pain... we choose the difficult path.

The great psychologist, Carl Jung, said:  "What you resist persists."  Very profound words.  Meaning that whatever we are against, will keep coming to us, until we learn acceptance of what is.  Our lesson must be learnt, so it will keep coming back, in different ways, until we learn it, and move on.  If we avoid the lesson for too long, it will become stronger and more in our face, so that we are forced to take notice of it.

It all starts with us... We cannot change or accept anything in our reality until we learn to change and accept ourselves.

You may ask:  How do I do that?  A great exercise is to look in the mirror, and think of one thing that you don't accept about yourself... something that you are not happy about... something you would like to change... Now ask yourself this question:  'How would my life change if I accepted and loved this thing about myself?'  Close your eyes and see yourself in the way you would like to be... doing the things that you would like to do.  Feel the sensations of happiness that you would have... Now look in the mirror again, and look deeply into your own eyes and say:  "I love and accept myself just as I am."  Say this as many times as you can.... and keep saying it all through each day.  Say thank you for your life.... say thank you for your body, mind and soul...It may be difficult at first, especially looking into your own eyes and saying these words... but it will get easier and easier as you begin to accept yourself.  You will begin to smile at yourself, and you will begin to believe what you are saying.

You will begin to see yourself with the eyes of love.  You will begin to accept others as they are... and the world as it is... You will complain less, and be grateful more often. You will begin to uncover and perceive a greatness and beauty in yourself, and the world... a beauty and greatness you could never have imagined.  Eventually this will be your default, and you will catch yourself when you begin to complain, and change it to gratitude.

Love, light and great abundance ♥

COMPASSION VS PITY

When you are feeling down and depressed, hurt... or sad about something, and someone comes over to you, sees your distress and says 'Oh shame' and gives you a hug, how do you feel?  Most of us, if not all of us, feel even sadder, and will often burst into tears.  Why do we react this way?

When we are feeling sad or down, we are really dissatisfied with some event or circumstance in our life.  This means we are against what is happening.  We see what is happening as some sort of threat to us.  We feel fear... and thus feel victimised.  We feel as though we don't have any control over the situation.  We have made ourselves into victims.  We have said 'I give up'... or 'There is nothing I can do'... 'I have no control over the situation'.  We have put ourselves on a low energy frequency, and thus attract and connect with others on a low energy frequency.

"We often think of peace as the absence of war; that if the powerful countries would reduce their arsenals, we could have peace. But if we look deeply into the weapons, we see our own minds - our prejudices, fears, and ignorance. Even if we transported all the bombs to the moon, the roots of war and the reasons for bombs would still be here, in our hearts and minds, and sooner or later we would make new bombs. Seek to become more aware of what causes anger and separation, and what overcomes them. Root out the violence in your life, and learn to live compassionately and mindfully."
~ Thich Nhat Hanh
Is that really what you want?  Do you want to be surrounded by people who expect and want the best of you;  or people that expect and want the worst of you?

Being in a victim mindset means that we are in scarcity mode.  We have disconnected ourselves from our higher intelligence, our divine creator, God.  When we are in need of something, it means we don't have it.  When we don't have something, we are in scarcity mode, as opposed to abundance, which is the knowing that God provides for all of our needs.

Now when someone comes along and says 'Oh shame.... poor you', or curses the situation or person that is causing this unhappiness, for example; what we unconsciously or consciously think is this:  'See, it is true, I don't have any control over anything, I am a victim.  This person or situation causing me this pain is a tyrant.  This person feeling pity for me also sees me as a victim, and thus feels sorry for me. I have a right to feel this way'.  So our belief that we are a victim is strengthened.

When someone curses and aids you in blaming a situation or another person, they are telling you that you are powerless, that somebody or something else, is controlling you.  They are helping you to give your power away.

On the other hand, if someone were to be callous and say, 'Stop feeling sorry for yourself', we would feel unloved and victimised too.  So what would be a beneficial manner in treating a sad person?

"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day.  If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime."
~ Lao Tzu

True compassion is not pity, but rather the belief that we all live in abundance, even if someone else thinks they are living in a Universe of scarcity.  It is the knowing that the 'victim' is in abundance, but doesn't realise it at that moment.  True compassion is being able to put yourself in someone else's shoes, to understand and to be objective.  True compassion is an understanding of the pain that the victim is feeling, yet a knowing that all is well.  Isn't it better then to acknowledge understanding, but to let the victim know that there is always a solution, and motivate the victim to find the solution?  Feeling pity for someone only disempowers them, because you are confirming that their situation is indeed pitiful.  They thus feel weak and unable to solve the problem.  Motivating someone to find the solution gives them their power back.  They realise that you have faith in their ability to solve the problem, and begin to acquire this faith in themselves, and they feel empowered.

This may seem hard and callous to some.  The question is, are you being compassionate, and thus genuinely caring for someone;  or are you pitying someone, which is not genuine concern, but the feeding of your own ego?  Making someone rely on you... making yourself seem like a caring person, when indeed you are doing more harm than good.

Be a being of compassion, and love, and you have contributed to a greater universe of peace and abundance.  You have put yourself on a higher energy frequency, and thus attract people that are on this same higher frequency.  We are very much like radios, we connect on the frequency that we are tuned into.

What frequency is your radio on?

FORGIVENESS

FORGIVE YOURSELF INTO GREATNESS

Are you your best friend... or your greatest enemy?

Forgiveness is a rebirth of hope,
a reorganisation of thought,
and a reconstruction of dreams.
Once forgiving begins,
dreams can be rebuilt.
When forgiving is complete,
meaning has been extracted
from the worst of experiences
and used to create a new set of moral rules
and a new interpretation of life's events.
~ Beverley Flanigan

Forgiving oneself is the most difficult type of forgiving.  We are often harder on ourselves than on others.  We beat ourselves up for not being perfect.  For making mistakes... for not knowing better, and sometimes for knowing better, but still going ahead with the action in question.

When we feel hurt, rejection, frustration and pain, we often lash out in anger and say and do things that we wouldn't usually say or do.  We are blinded by our anger.  It is like having blinders on... all we see is what is directly before us and we don't like it.  We don't think straight.  We react in the moment, instead of taking the time to gather ourselves.  Regret comes once we have calmed down and realised what we have done, and the consequences of our actions.  However, it is too late... what is done is done, and cannot be undone.

In a way, forgiving is only for the brave.
It is for those people who are willing to confront their pain,
accept themselves as permanently changed,
and make difficult choices.
Countless individuals are satisfied to go on resenting
and hating people who wrong them.
Forgivers, on the other hand,
are not content to be stuck in a quagmire.
They reject the possibility that the rest of their lives
will be determined by the unjust and injurious acts
of another person.
~ Gordon Dalbey

How does it serve us to beat ourselves up about what cannot be undone?  Does it benefit us in any way?   What good then is regret?

Regret is just something that puts limits on us... that stops us from reaching our full potential... from connecting with our inner power.  It stunts our emotional and spiritual growth, and keeps us from the freedom we are worthy of.... the freedom we so rightly deserve.

You don't have to know how to forgive... you just need to be willing to forgive.  You don't have to tell those you forgive that you have forgiven them.  Your forgiving is a private matter between you and your ego.  It is a burden that you carry, so there is no need to tell people you have forgiven them.  However, if you feel the need to do so... there is no reason for you not to do so.  Remember, though, not to expect others to be as forgiving as you are.  If they are not, don't permit that to bother you.  We are all doing the best we can with the knowledge and experience we have.  People don't often learn by being told, but by example, and by living through the lessons, when they are ready... in their own sweet time.

"All the years you have waited for them to
'make it up to you'
and all the energy you have expended
trying to make them change
(or make them pay)
kept the old wounds from healing
and gave pain from the past free reign
to shape, and even damage your life.
And still, they may not have changed.
Nothing you have done has made them change.
Indeed, they may never change.
Inner peace is found by changing yourself,
not the people who hurt you.
And you change for yourself,
for the joy, serenity, peace of mind,
understanding, compassion, laughter,
and bright future that you get."

~ Lewis B. Smedes

Forgiving someone for something does not mean that you have to tolerate their behaviour towards you.  We all have the right to choose how we are treated.  We also have the right and obligation towards ourselves to see things from an objective point of view.  Remember that another person's behaviour towards you has nothing to do with you.  It is not because of you that they behave as they do.  They are behaving according to their beliefs about themselves and about life... their own issues.  We always have the choice to be offended, or not.  Being offended means that we feel judged... and herein lies judgement of ourselves.

We have the choice of whether to ignore something... or to react.  Reaction is based on strong emotions... in this case, strong negative emotions.  Whereas, if we take the time to calm down and put ourselves outside of the situation, we receive guidance from a higher power.  We then act from inspiration, rather than emotion, or past experience.

Everyone that is in our lives is here for a reason... even those we see as petty tyrants.  They are here to teach us something about ourselves.  The people in our lives are but reflections of the things we feel about ourselves.  What we hate or dislike in another is the mirror image of something we hate or dislike about ourselves.  We need to look inward and find what feelings of unworthiness we have about ourselves, and heal these by learning better self-love.

Blessings of love on your journey of forgiveness ♥

ABUNDANCE VS SCARCITY

Are you living with beliefs of abundance or scarcity?

Abundance is a word that most people very rarely hear.  We have been so conditioned to a world of scarcity, so focused on scarcity, that most humans have no idea what abundance is.  Everyone we talk to, talks of scarcity of some sort. We only need to put the television on to see scarcity in the form of the news.  The adverts tell us that we need this and that in order to be acceptable.  The movies focus on violence and crime.  The dramas and soapies focus on problem after problem... as if they are things to be revered.

"Abundance is not something we acquire, it is something we tune into."
~ Dr Wayne Dyer

What is abundance?

"Life in abundance comes only through great love."
~ Elbert Hubbard

Abundance is a belief that we tune into.  It is something stronger than faith, that this Universe is good, and safe, and providing for our every need.   This faith requires that, no matter what our reality may look like, sound like, feel like, we are indeed clothed in protection, love and peace.  It is the trust that everything is right, and nothing can go wrong.  That everything happens for our higher good.  That there is an infinite power that has our best interests at heart.  No matter your religion or non religion.  It can be called whatever resounds with you.  It is only the ego that is consumed with labelling.  This higher power has no ego, and thus no care for what it is called.  It just is!

"Expect your every need to be met.  Expect the answer to every problem, expect abundance on every level."
~  Eileen Caddy

What is scarcity?

Many people say they have faith in God, but they complain endlessly about not having enough, or about all the crime in the world.  Where is the faith in God?   True faith is not something one turns on and off at will.  It is something that consumes everything we think, everything we say, everything we do.  There can be do doubt or regret in faith.  For then it is not faith.  Herein lies scarcity.

"Not what we have, but what we enjoy, constitutes our abundance."
~ Epicurus

Scarcity is the belief that people have that they live in a world of crime, pain, hurt, poverty.  This belief shows up in complaints about not having enough.  It shows up when we blame others for what is happening to us.  By blaming someone else, we are basically saying that our higher power, or God, or our creator, is not in control of our lives, that the person we blame is.   I ask again, where is the faith in that?

Living a life of abundance means focusing on the positive, good things in the world.  Embracing them, talking of them, living them.  It means being in a state of love, as opposed to a state of fear.  It means looking for the best in everything and everyone, and ignoring what we don't like.  It means imagining our world to be exactly as we want it, and believing that it will be so.  It means accepting that although things don't always seem to be going our way at the moment, that ultimately they are for our best.  Accepting that lessons are here for us to reach our full potential, and that if we learn from them, it is for our better purpose.

"Whatever we are waiting for ~ peace of mind, contentment, grace, the inner awareness of simple abundance ~ it will surely come to us, but only when we are ready to receive it with an open and grateful heart."
~ Sarah Ban Breathnach

Abundance is saying thank you, and appreciating all we are, and all we have.  It is the faith that our every needs will be met.  It is not positive thinking, it is way beyond that.  It is thinking abundance, talking abundance, living abundance.  It is living as if today is your last day.

May you shine your light of abundance on the world today, for in doing so, you will be creating the abundant world that you desire.

Love, light and abundance ♥

BELIEFS

What are beliefs?

A belief is an idea or thought that you have become committed to.  Ideas and thoughts can come and go, but if you think about them and agree to them, you commit yourself to them.  Most of our beliefs are received from other people, teachers at school, our religion, our parents, our peers.  Our beliefs are our truths.  They may not be the truth, but they are what we perceive as the truth.  They are what we base our lives on... what shapes our lives.  They are what attract the circumstances we have in our lives.  We have many areas of life:  health, wealth, family and friends, hobbies, relationships, career, personal space, contribution and spirituality.  We have thousands and thousands of beliefs, some that we are not even aware of, in all these areas of our lives.

You may believe that you are ugly.  This belief will keep you from enjoying a social life.  You will think that people will look at you and reject you or make fun of you.  You could very well be a very good looking person to others, but this is your belief.  This belief could have been formed when you were a child and some other child told you that you are ugly.  They may not have believed this themselves, but might have just said that to hurt you, as children so often are prone to do.   This would have hurt you and you would have thought about it often, and started to believe it.  Other incidents may have strengthened this belief.  You would have acted on this belief by limiting yourself to circumstances that you feel comfortable in.

"You can have anything you want if you will give up the belief that you can't have it."
~ Dr Robert Anthony

Are your beliefs serving you?

Take a piece of paper and a pen and write down all your dreams.  All the things you would like to do.  Now look at each one, analyse it, and find out which of your beliefs are holding you back from doing those things or accomplishing those dreams.  Beliefs are not set in stone... they are only our truths, and we can change them at any time.   Now write down the belief that is limiting your life, and next to it, or below it, write down the belief that would make your dream possible.  It would be the opposite of the belief that is holding you back.
Eg.   Many people believe that they must have a job, and that they would not be able to own a successful business.   That they must be content with surviving, rather than being happy and successful.

This sounds really crazy, but weren't all the most successful people rather crazy...lol!  Close your eyes and imagine that you have a cape behind you.  Yes, you.... Now anything that you can imagine, you can do!  You just have to instill the belief.  Go on, reach your full potential!  YOU CAN!!

Love, light and abundance :)

BELIEFS ~ WHERE DID WE GET THEM?

Our mostly well-meaning parents, teachers, peers, television, etc, have instilled certain beliefs in our minds.  These beliefs are based on the social ideologies of the time, or era.  We are taught that certain behaviours, images, fashions, body shapes, religions, discriminations, ways of thinking, etc, are acceptable;  and others are not acceptable.

"The outer conditions of a person's life will always be found to reflect their inner beliefs."
~ James Allen

A great example is the 'flower power' of the sixties.  It was acceptable to be close to nature, dress plainly and to speak one's mind, among other things.  Technological inventions increased, and now we are in the age of technology.  People are more materialistic, less interested in nature.   More involved with working long hours to make more money to pay for their expensive life styles.  Life is a rush.... and the best things in life, that are free, have been mostly left behind... There isn't much time for our kids, for nature, for compassion...

"Circumstances do not make a man, they reveal him."
~ James Allen

Our ideas and beliefs change every few years according to our social conditioning.   Some states in the USA don't want children to be schooled at home because they feel that all children should be indoctrinated with the same ideas.  What ever happened to creativity, individuality?

Advertisements on television make us think that we have to be slim.  That we have to possess a particular car or phone, etc to be cool.... to fit in.  Many people even raise their children from very young to fit in with society.   So does that mean that if the child's peers take drugs, that is is ok?  It is much like saying to a child:  'You can swear, but only in certain places and under certain circumstances'.  Isn't it better to teach a child to think and make his own decisions, whether they fit in with society or not?

Many children are labelled as ADD or ADHD because they want to play and be active, as children should, rather than sitting in front of the TV all day, being quiet and out of the way.  They are fed junk food, processed foods, sweets, carbonated drinks instead of healthy foods.   They are often called stupid by teachers, parents and peers.  These children are not stimulated, read to, nor taught to concentrate.  It is easier to take a pill to fix these problems, but even pills have their problems, like side effects, etc.

In many cases, we are taught to accept these ideas without question.  I grew up this way...fearing all sorts of terrible punishments and consequences, that I now know were just fear motivation, and thus just made up... When I was twenty years old, I witnessed a man in our office grab a book that a lady was reading, and tear it to pieces, saying it was evil.  Since then this kind of thing has happened many times.... Of course, being the curious person I am... I had to find out what the big secret was.... Many questions crossed my mind, but I never really pursued them.  The opportunity only came a few years later when I started studying a teachers degree, and discovered some amazing things... then life coaching... and now the discoveries don't stop...

"Beliefs have the power to create and the power to destroy.  Human beings have the awesome ability to take any experience of their lives and create a meaning that disempowers them or one that can literally save their lives."
~ Anthony Robbins

"Blind belief in authority is the greatest enemy of truth."
~ Albert Einstein

That took care of most of my fears... and I discovered unconditional love.  Love for myself and for others.  An understanding of why people do what they do.  When we understand ourselves and others, we become more compassionate, and more loving.  Where there is love, there cannot be fear.  Where there is faith, there cannot be fear.

When we feel that we are expected to behave in a particular manner, we feel confined, in search of something, but we don't know what.  We feel that we are being judged, and so judge ourselves.  If we didn't judge ourselves, we wouldn't care when other's judge us.  It is in this judging of ourselves that we create self-suffering.

When we change our beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world, from limiting beliefs, to beliefs that serve us, we stop  judging ourselves and live happier, more fulfilling lives.  We lose the fear of tackling new things.  We gain the courage to look all those old fears square in the face, and conquer them.

Where there is no fear, love thrives.  Love for ourselves, others, animals, our enviroment, our circumstances. our world.  When we give love, we receive love.  Where there is love, there is great happiness.  Obstacles become adventurous challenges, and often go by unnoticed.

Don't for a minute think that your beliefs don't affect others.  It is because of these limiting beliefs, these fear beliefs, that we have so much war, hatred, crime, depression and unhappiness around us.  We attract what we are, what we believe, what we do... Our thoughts lay the foundation for our reality.  The Bible tells us 'As a man thinketh, so he is'.   Let us start to change our reality, our world, to a reality of peace and love... One thought at a time...

The most efficient way of changing a belief is by using affirmations.  Yes, many people say affirmations don't work.... of course they don't work if you don't use them correctly.  Affirmations must be repeated about 40 times a day, daily, for 40 days to become a belief.  An mp3 player is a great way of achieving this.  I wouldn't give mine away for all the money in the world.

Love, light and abundance ♥

ANGER ~ THE GREATEST FEAR

A rather controversial subject that people generally don't want to face... We have been so conditioned to lay blame for everything at other's feet that it is difficult to get past this crutch and reach a state of self-responsibility.  It may seem glum at first, but the benefits far outweigh the little challenges we have to face on this path.

The eye only sees as far as the mind allows.... This is for those who are ready to move on and grow... ready to discover true inner peace and happiness.

"A man is about as big as the things that make him angry."
~ Sir Winston Churchill

"Speak when you are angry ~ and you will make the best speech you will ever regret."
~ Dr Laurence J. Peters

"Holding onto anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else;  you are the one who gets burnt."
~ Buddha

Why do we become angry?

Somebody may not be doing or saying what we would like them to do or say.  We may not like what they are saying.  It basically boils down to us not getting our way.   Much like spoilt children that want something in a shop and turn blue with anger;  throw themselves on the floor and scream blue murder because they are not getting what they want.  The only difference is that we use ugly words instead of screaming, and we lash out in violence rather than throwing ourselves on the floor.   We are bigger now and stronger...

In losing our tempers we have made a judgement:  "I expect this or that to be done in this or that manner so that I can be happy.  Any other way will cause my displeasure and is thus unacceptable.  IF another person doesn't react the way that I expect them to, I shall become angry, and in this way try to manipulate them into submission."  What most people don't realise is that in thinking and reacting in this manner, they are giving their power away.   They are allowing other people to dictate their emotional state of well being.  They are allowing other's to control them.

"Anger always comes from frustrated expectations."
~ Elliot Larson

Now when we feel that we are not getting our way, we become angry.... Where does this anger really stem from?  Why are we affected in this manner when we don't get our way?

"The angry people are those people who are most afraid."
~ Dr Robert Anthony

Picture this scenario:  You are my boss, and you rely on me to produce work of a good quality so that your business can run smoothly and be successful.  This way you can make enough money to feed your family, pay the rent or mortgage, and cover all your expenses.  Go on holiday, etc.   Therefore you depend on my good work.  It effects the amount of money you make, or don't make.

If my work is not of a high standard, you may lose money;  your business may lose it's good reputation;  you may have to do the work over again (if there is a way to correct it);  you may be running on a deadline.  There are many more reasons that you are dependent on me.  Take a look at the key word 'lose'.  What feeling surfaces when we think of a loss of anything... Fear.  The fear of not having something that we may need or want;  the fear of being less by having less;  the fear of being judged as a failure (not only by other's, but by ourselves);  the fear of not pleasing those close to us.

We have been so conditioned since we were children, to do what other's want us to do, out of fear of getting into trouble.   Fear of having to face someone else's anger.  We are told not to do certain things that may prove dangerous for us, or other's.  We are taught to fear God's wrath if we sin;  to fear being sent to a burning hell if we don't obey.  Our lives are consumed by fear.

Our reaction to this fear is to try to control our circumstances, by becoming angry and manipulating those around us into doing what we want them to do so that we don't have to experience this fear.  This stress and worry.  Which is imagined.   See my post on fear.  Fear is too large a subject to cover in one post and is the root of all negative emotion.

Another scenario:  I tell you that you are stupid.  You become angry and start swearing and shouting at me.  What are you really thinking?  "What a cheek, how can she say I'm stupid!  Who gives her the right to judge me!!  Who does she think she is?  Does she think that she is superior to me?  (Making me inferior).  On a deeper level my judgement of you is causing you to wonder at the truth of this statement, and therefore to judge yourself.  You may ask yourself what you have done to seem stupid in my eyes.  Therein already lies a seed of doubt about yourself, a judgement.

The anger says:  "She is not thinking of me as I would like her to perceive me.  I want to be in control of what she thinks of me.  I don't want her to think I'm stupid."  Once again there is the condition:  If someone does not perceive me as I want them to, I will become angry as a form of manipulation, to try to control what they think of me.  My emotional state of well-being therefore depends on what people think of me... they have control of me.   My fear has weakened me and given my power away.

"He who angers you, conquers you."
~ Elizabeth Kenny

"When there is anger, there is always pain underneath."
~ Eckhart Tolle

"Anger dwells only in the bosom of fools."
~ Albert Einstein

"At the core of all anger is a need not being fulfilled."
~ Marshall B. Rosenberg

"Anger is a killing thing:  it kills the man who angers, for each rage leaves him less than he had been before - it takes something from him."
~ Louis L'Armour

Yes, we all get angry... some more than other's.   That doesn't mean that we have to accept this weakness.  We can start today to become aware of it and take baby steps to beat this greatest of all fears, and take back control of our own lives.

A most important concept to remember is this:  There are basically two states of emotion... Love and Fear.  When you are in a state of love, you are in a state of abundance.  This state of abundance is not a money thing, but means that you feel that there is more than enough love and good around you, and within you.  That you have no reason to fear anything at all!   When you truly believe this, your reality changes to suit your beliefs, and you become more and more abundant.

My articles are intertwined, as all our issues in life are.  Please read my other posts for more clarity.  Especially beneficial to this post is http://lifematters4u.blogspot.com/2011/08/fear.html and http://lifematters4u.blogspot.com/2011/10/why-do-i-have-violent-events-in-my-life.html

WHY IS DO I HAVE VIOLENT EVENTS IN MY LIFE?

People wonder why their houses are burglared;  why they are hijacked;  how they get into all sorts of violent events... They wonder why God is not protecting them, as he should, and think of the world as an evil place, filled with crime, and bad people.  They curse God, when all the time they are the only one's to blame.

People say that want to live a peaceful existence, but their actions are not peaceful.

Why are they to blame

Nine out of ten people watch movies... not comedies....action movies, full of all sorts of violence and horror.  They give attention to it.  They enjoy it.   They say:  "That is a great movie!"  They talk about it to friends.  The Law of Attraction says:  "You liked that, let me give you more of that..."  So you attract violent circumstances into your life.   Of course the depth of which will depend on the amount of emotion you have put into the movie.  How much attention you have given it.

Most people watch the news with almost all of it being of a negative nature.  Violent killings, protests, fighting.  They then tell their friends what they saw too.... And if something big happens, like the death of Gadaffi, they watch the movie of his death, and then post it to facebook so that everyone else can see it.  They comment on it and give so much attention to it.  The Law of Attraction says:  "Oh you like death and violence.... let's give you some more."  Suffering is suffering.. we are all one.  If another suffers, you will also suffer on some level, because we are all connected.  No matter how bad we may think another is... to wish suffering on someone else or to enjoy it... we attract it to ourselves too.

How many people watch programs like WWE?  They enjoy the fighting.   The worst is that they even allow their children to watch it, and have this violence put into their impressionable minds.   They cheer and think it is great, so the child also thinks it is great, and also want to do it.   Having been an educator, I have seen many children trying out these moves on their friends at school, which has often resulted in a broken arm, etc.  Which could very well be a broken neck the next time.  The Law of Attraction says:  "You enjoy fighting... ok, let's bring some into your life."

Do you belong to groups that focus on suffering of a child, a species of animal?  Do you protest against politicians you think are evil, or events and circumstances that you don't like?  Let's take Julius Malema, for instance... Here in South Africa he is hated by many.   Now to begin with, hate is a very, very strong emotion, and strong emotions cause strong energy to be released.   The Law of Attraction states that like attracts like, so whatever strong energy you release out into the Universe, you receive a similar energy back.  One consciousness means that we are all connected in thought.  If many people give thought to a particular subject or person, we create that thing.  In other words, the more attention people give Julius Malema, the stronger he becomes.  We, who have the power to create.... create people like Julius Malema, by focusing our attention on our fears of people like him.  We then give this person we created attention by talking about them, by becoming angry about their actions, and we give our power away, and make them stronger.  By giving your attention to the suffering of animals and children, you are believing that this is the way life is, and thinking in scarcity.  Scarcity of good people who treat animals and children with love and respect.

Mother Teresa said:  "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other."

"I was once asked why I don't participate in anti-war demonstrations.  I said that I would never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I'll be there."
~ Mother Teresa

Soapies are the also a great way of attracting more drama into your life.   If you focus on problems, even if they are not your own... that is what you will get.

When we watch all this violence and drama, we think that the Universe is an unsafe, violent place, and that people are evil and bad.  That crime is the order of the day.   We attract what we believe.

"I believe all suffering is caused by ignorance.  People inflict pain on others in the selfish pursuit of their happiness and satisfaction.  Yet true happiness comes from a sense of peace and contentment, which in turn must be achieved through the cultivation of altruism, of love and compassion, and elimination of ignorance, selfishness and greed."
~ Dalai Lama

If you want a life of peace.... live a life of peace.  Remove all violence and drama from your life.  Watch beautiful inspiring movies, comedies.  Believe that we live in a peaceful, safe Universe, and that people are good and kind.   Join groups that focus on peace and abundance.  Believe that animals and children are loved, respected and in abundance.  That you live in an abundant world with more than enough kindness and love.  Enjoy nature and feel the abundance of peace in every flower, every insect, every tree.  Focus on the best there is and that is what your reality will become.

"The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realise their relationship, their Oneness with the Universe and all it's powers, and when they realise that at the centre of the Universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this centre is really everywhere, it is within each of us."
~ Black Elk

You will attract good, kind and peaceful people into your life.   If you focus on the good in others, and there is always good in everyone, they tend to live up to that responsibility.

By focusing on the good in people, events and circumstances, you are in alignment with your true nature, with God.  You will experience life as God intended, and life will be beautiful and good.  There is no evil, and there are no devils or monsters.... only what you have created with your beliefs.
